Our opening hours
The Tearoom is open daily from 9.30am - with last entry at 4pm. No bookings or reservations are taken, its walk in only.
A warm welcome awaits you
The Tearoom does not take any table bookings and are a 'walk in' service only.
During the holidays, the Tearoom gets very busy. We do ask all customers to be patient as there may be a wait to get a table but we always try and advise on any wait time expected.
Please note that last entry is at 16.00.

Our Homemade Scones and Cream Teas are available to be delivered throughout the UK
Our scones are so popular we are able to deliver them to you via our 'Cornish Tins' , priced from £25.00 - these are dispatched within hours of the scones being baked and can be posted via Royal Mail Special Delivery to any address in Mainland UK plus Scottish Islands - post the Covid 19 pandemic, they are aiming to deliver next day however it cannot be guaranteed and it could take an additional day so please bear that in mind if ordering for a special occasion.
They are sold in sets of two and are available in Plain, Fruit (Sultana) and Gluten Free sets. Each set contains two homemade scones, two jars of preserves and two clotted cream portions. Sets are available with or without Tea.
You are able to order a mixed set which includes one plain and one fruit scone.
For the sweet sets, the Clotted Cream is dispatched frozen so takes 24hrs to defrost so it will be ready to be used once the tin arrives with the recipient.
Dedicated to local, quality produce
Husband and Wife team David & Lis pride ourselves on providing organic, fair trade tea and coffee. This includes us offering over 60 different types of Teas and Infusions including the locally grown 'Tregothnan' tea in addition to 3 different blends of coffee.
We actively work with local suppliers to source the freshest ingredients that showcase the best of Cornwall and where possible originate from the stunning surroundings of Mevagissey which itself is within Cornwall’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Gift Vouchers are available
We are able to offer our customers e-gift vouchers to the value of their choice that can be purchased directly from the Tearoom or available via emailing us at hello@teacuptearoom.com and we can take payment remotely by our online secure payment system and email the vouchers out directly for you.
Life is too short to not eat cake
We serve a selection of beverages along with traditional Cornish Cream Tea’s of scones, clotted cream and local preserves and a selection of cakes or desserts. We believe in offering our customers choice so you will always have the option to choose which preserves you would like and whether you would like plain or fruit scones served.
Our Instagram and Facebook page always show the latest cakes and treats being served in the Tearoom.
Our Homemade Cream Tea sets start from £7.75 and are cakes from £3.00.
We try and cater for all dietary requirements at no extra cost
We aim to meet the needs or our customers by offering gluten free, dairy free and nut free and vegan options and your Tea or Coffee is always available with your choice of preferred milk including non-dairy at no extra charge.
We serve our Deluxe Vegan Hot Chocolates with vegan marshmallows, non dairy cream to make it extra special.
We are no longer offering takeaway Cream Tea sets or Sandwiches from the Tearoom as we continue to focus on reducing any single use products to help protect the environment.
Our range of freshly made sandwiches are also available on gluten free rolls and can be served with dairy free spread as well as our sandwich selection containing several vegan and vegetarian filling options.
We advise all customers who have specific allergy or dietary requirements to check with the tearoom in advance (ideally the day before) of their visit to check on items that are suitable - we are a small tearoom and items such as our gluten & dairy free combined scones sell out very fast so we would hate for any visitors to be disappointed if their requirements cannot be met.

In the short time the Tearoom has been open we have been Gold winners twice, Silver winners once, Bronze winners twice, and finalist in six Industry and Tourism Awards including 'Best Café/Tearoom' , 'Best New Business' and 'Most Dog Friendly Business'.
We have recently won four awards in The Cornwall Tourism Awards for 'Best Café/Tearoom' and 'Most Dog Friendly Business' for 2019/2020 and 2020/2021.
We are Award Winning in South West England
In February 2020 we represented Cornwall in the South West England Tourism Excellence Awards for 'Dog Friendly Business' where we won the Silver Award and also in received the Commended Honour for 'Best Café/Tearoom' in the South West.
We are currently in the finals for the South West England Tourism Excellence Awards for 'Best Café/Tearoom' for 2020/2021.
Do you take orders for scones?
Unfortunately, during our very busy summer season, we are no longer able to take orders or pre-orders for scones. These include our Gluten Free & Vegan scones. We will continue to bake these regularly (not necessarily every day) to eat within the Tearoom , but please be aware they often sell out quickly.
We always will have a selection of Gluten Free & Vegan cakes within the Tearoom.
We sell everything you need for your own tea party
All the tea that is served within the Tearoom is available for sale .
We also have a range of delicious jams and relishes for sale that we use within the tearoom so if there is anything you would like just email us at hello@teacuptearoom.com.

We are so much more than just another 'Dog Friendly' place, we are Gold Award winning!
We want to ensure that it’s not just you that has a special time with us so we have designed some special treats for your beloved dogs too, no matter the weather they are always welcome in the Tearoom and we will have nice fluffy towels, comfy beds, blankets and treats galore to make their visit special too.
We won Gold in the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2019 for the most Dog Friendly Business in Cornwall so you know you and your dogs will receive a gold star welcome!
